ConnectWise
ConnectWise PSA
Hal reads ConnectWise PSA so an alert that names a client carries the surrounding record, who they are, what’s documented, what’s open on the board, and who to contact. The event stops being an anonymous log line and becomes a known client with history.
What Hal reads:
- Companies, contacts, and sites
- Configurations, the documented assets, searchable by name, IP, or serial
- Service tickets and ticket notes
- Knowledge base articles
- Service agreements
- Your technicians’ time entries, time sheets, expenses, schedule, activity and pay rates (staff data), and per-record audit trails
Access is strictly read-only. Hal connects with an Inquire-level role and never adds, edits, or deletes anything in ConnectWise.
Staff data
Staff data is what ConnectWise holds about your own technicians: time entries, time sheets, expenses, schedule, activity and pay rates. In chat, on Slack and in Zendesk notes, only Hal admins and the people listed under Settings → Integration Access (Staff Data) can ask for it; admins always can. Hal’s own investigations still read it. Tickets, companies, contacts and configurations stay available to everyone.
How to connect
In the Hal portal, add a read-only ConnectWise API credential, a dedicated API member assigned an Inquire-only role. Hal tests the connection and reports the ConnectWise version on success. Setup walkthroughs are in Getting Started.
